I saw on ad on one of the channels the other week. It was not a shopping channel, but here some show those shopping ads after the channel closes.

It was for food storage boxes that are suppose to keep food fresher for up to 10 times longer. Sounded great. I decided to think about it, look into it, get an idea what was what.

In the end I visited their website to buy some. It made it clear on telly & on their website that if you buy one set you get another set free. So it was worth the price. I bought some sets.

They came today, but no free sets. I called them to ask what was going on. I was told the boxes are not a free set, but the lids are the free set. WTF? I did of course question this. I have never heard anything like this, ever. Lids are counted as an integral part of the box, not separate. They would not budge.

I decided to report them to Trading Standards & the Advertising Standards Authority as this is clearly misleading & in breach of the law on advertising.

Under the Distant Selling Regulations I do have some protection. Any items you buy online, from the telly, mail order, etc, you can return for a full refund, within 7 days. They must refund the full cost, postage, etc.
