Each non paying site member gets one free point per month that can be used to read an e-mail message.
Use of additional site services are very reasonably priced and are accessed by opening a site subscription. . Q: Should I be worried about predators when using this site? A: Dating4Disabled.com uses advanced screening technology, as well as manual filtering in order to prevent preditors from entering the site. Unfortunately, unwanted visitors slip through the cracks, and here is where your good judgment comes in. Just as in real life, you must proceed with caution and good judgment when meeting new people. If anyone asks you for money, or any other suspicious requests, please notify the dating4disabled.com team immediately. The member who's message or forum posting you are trying to read has been deleted from Dating4Disabled.com. This is because of a violation of the Terms and Conditions agreement, which includes solicitation, abuse and asking members for money. You will no longer be able to view correspondence with this member and their profile has been deleted. Q: How do I freeze/delete my account? A: If you would like to delete/ freeze your account at Dating4Disabled.com, you must choose to freeze your account. You can do so by going to SETTINGS and freeze account tab.
At this time your profile will not be available to others and you will not receive messages from members. After your account has been frozen for a period of six months, your account will be automatically deleted.
If you would like to unfreeze your account, simply sign in as usual. Note: signing in will restart the six month waiting period.
If you are a paid subscriber, freezing your account will NOT cancel your paid subscription.
To cancel the paid membership, send us an e-mail via contact us stating your wish to stop paying the monthly fee. Such written requests must be received by us five or more business days before the start of the new month's membership. Q: Are there any risks of receiving computer viruses on dating4disabled.com? A: No. The transference of a virus from one computer to another can not occur through the use of dating4disabled.com. There is no risk whatsoever. Q: How do I use the blogs? A: To start your own Blog click on the orange Blog tab at the top of your page. Then click the "open new blog" button. You will be asked to give your blog a category, name and description. This is NOT the blog entry itself, but rather a description. After you have described the nature of your Blog, you will then be able to add entries to it by clicking the "Add entry to your blog" button. To edit details or view past entries click the "View/Edit your Blog" button. Q: Who is site administration? No, you may not post your e-mail address on the blogs: By adding your e-mail address and/ or other addresses where you can be contacted , you will find yourself blocked from posting on the site.
Posts that do not adhere to the guidelines may be removed without explanation and site membership may be revoked. Q: When can I read site messages? A: You can read messages in one of three cases: a. You are a paying member. b. The person who sent you the message is a paying member. c. You have one point to read a message. Q: How long are messages saved for? A: Messages will be saved in the inbox for 60 days, after that they will move automatically to the deleted items folder. Q: "Report Abuse" button A: All public Dating4Disabled correspondence is monitored daily, and member profiles are scanned for fraudulent information. At the same time, it is possible for abuse to occur in personal correspondence. Therefore, we have developed an abuse report system by which we identify fraudulent profiles. A "Report Abuse" button is located at the top of every profile, and we ask our members to please report any suspicious members, messages or postings to Dating4Disabled immediately. This will ensure your safety and the safety of other members. Q. Is it ok to add my e-mail address, and/or contact information to my profile/ blog/ blog comments or forum? A. No, by doing so, you will be in violation of site rules and will find yourself blocked. Q. How to get UN-blocked A. If you have violated site rules by including contact details on your profile, to get unblocked, you''ll need to become a paying member. Public and Private Chat Q: What is the difference between General Chat and Private chat? On Dating4Disabled there are two different chat options. The first is the general chat, located on the orange tab at the top of your screen, labeled “chat”. This is the dating4disabled chat room, where many members can chat together at the same time. Within the general chat, you may open a private chat with a member who is also in the chat room at the time. The second chat option is called One-on-One and enables you to chat privately with any member who is online. You do this by clicking the “online chat” button which appears next to the member’s picture or within their profile. Q: Why is there an "X" when I try to enter the general chat? A: An "X" occurs when trying to open the general chat if you do not have the appropriate softwear. You need JAVA in order to use the chat. To download a free version of JAVA: http://www.java.com/en/download/windows_ie.jsp Q : IM - Why are site members unavailable to chat ? A: When trying to chat by instant messenger with someone and you get an unavailable to chat notification, the member may have left the computer open to the site while having gone away from the computer; and/ after having been online at the site, the system shows that member as still being on for some time even though they have logged out of the site, hence they're not available for chat. Q. Upon logging in, how can I change my IM (Instant Message) status from Online (green) to Busy (red)? A. When you log in to the site, directly under the welcome, you can adjust the IM status by clicking on the arrow; Your choices are to leave your IM status as Online (green), indicating that you are free to chat, or Busy (red) and by doing so, blocking people from chatting with you.
Search Q: How do I search for members? A: Press the SEARCH tab at the top of the screen. This will show you all dating4disabled.com. Clicking the "Online Now" button will show all members that are currently logged on. You will also see the "advanced search" option. By entering this option and then clicking on "edit my saved search preferences", you will have the option to search by many characteristics, such as: Gender, Age, country, and so on... Settings Q: What is my "friends" option? A: You can add a member to your friend list, so you can find him/her with ease. Note that the friend must also add you to their friends' list,,, You may add a friend who adds you as well, You also have the option to show on your card who your friends are. Please note however that since permission is necessary in order to add friends, since March 2009, one should beware of people who have added you prior to that date, without your having ever been in contact with them... Q: Why can’t I see my messages or view profiles? Because both messages and profiles appear in new windows, you will be unable to see them if you have a pop-up blocker activated. Please disable any pop-up blockers (including google tool bar) in order to view these windows Q: How do I add/remove pictures in my profile? Adding pictures to your profile can be done in the last step of your registration process. If you chose not to do this, you may always add, edit or remove pictures at any time by clicking the orange "Settings" tab at the top of your screen. Then click the orange "edit my pictures" button and follow the directions. Q: How long does it take for a new picture to appear in my profile? Pictures in JPEG format take 24-48 hours to be approved and added to your profile Q: What is a blacklist and how do I use it? When you choose to blacklist another member, they will be unable to contact you in the future. You can add another member to your blacklist once they have emailed you. At the top of every email you receive, there is an option "add to blacklist". To remove someone from your blacklist, enter the settings tab and click on "manage your blacklist". Q: How do I remove members from by blacklist? Under the orange "Settings" tab on the top of your screen there is an "advanced settings" option. Under this tab you will see the option "Manage your Blacklist". Q: What does it mean to show a member in your profile? When you choose to add a member to your friends list you will be asked if you would like to show the member in your profile. If you choose to do so, that member's picture will appear at the bottom of your profile as a link to their own profile; Note that permission is necessary by the person that you want to be friends with and if he/she does not send their approval, you will be unable to add them as a friend.
You can always add/remove a friend from your profile by clicking the SETTINGS tab and then "edit my friends list". Q: How do I change my age? A: If you made a mistake with your age in the registration, please email your correct birth date to Merryl@dating4disabled.com and it will be changed. Q: What is my IM status? A: You have the option of turning your IM status to "busy". This features makes you unavailable to chat with other members
Site Subscriptions Q: If a paying member IMs a non-paying member, will the paying member be able to chat with non-paying member? A: Yes Q:If a paying member sends an email to a non-paying member will the non-paying member be allowed to read it (outside of the *1* free monthly gift)? A: Yes Q: What is the gift point and when is it given? A: Dating4Disabled.com provides 1(one) free gift point each month, to each non-paying site member. The gift point allows the non paying member to read one message each month for free.
Note that the free gift point is given to non-paying members on the 1st of the month and must be used within that month.
